Five graduating seniors successfully nominated high school teachers for special recognition. Teachers who engaged, inspired and encouraged the recent BW grads, while preparing them for college, were recognized with the James Thomas High School Teacher Award. The award is funded by BW alumnus and trustee, James Thomas, chairman and CEO of Thomas Properties Group LLC, who lives in Los Angeles with his wife Sally.

Exceptional students of the communications programs at Baldwin Wallace University have achieved membership into the nationally recognized academic honor society of Lambda Pi Eta (LPH). LPH "recognizes, fosters, and rewards outstanding scholastic achievement while stimulating interest in the communication discipline."

Twenty-eight Capital University student-athletes were named 2014 Spring Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference as the league announced its honorees Tuesday, May 12.

The University of Findlay announces Merit Scholarship awards, which are based on a student's final, cumulative high school grade point average (GPA) and ACT/SAT scores. Scholarships are awarded beginning with the freshman year and are renewable for up to four years (for a total of five years of scholarship aid). Merit scholarships for transfer students are based on the student's GPA from all previous college-level institutions.

Four diverse destinations, 37 generous Baldwin Wallace University students and one short spring break week added up to a world of difference. BW's Alternative Break experience provides students the opportunity to spend their break in service. Each trip is led by a BW student with a University faculty or staff advisor also participating. The 2014 student volunteers traveled to Chicago, Charleston, S.C., Jacksonville, Fla. and Biloxi, Miss.

The University of Findlay's College of Business installed its inaugural members of the Delta Mu Delta, Nu Beta Chapter, honor society during a ceremony on April 2. Delta Mu Delta is the exclusive business honor society recognized by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) that recognizes and encourages academic excellence.

The 70-voice UF Concert-Chorale and a 50-piece orchestra will perform "The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace" by Welsh composer Karl Jenkins at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 6, in the Winebrenner Theological Seminary TLB Auditorium.
